3D Model Licensing

Model licenses are like the rules for using 3D designs. Imagine you have a cool 3D model you want to print and use. The 'NC-ND-NAI-PU' license is for personal stuff like your hobbies or gifts, but you can't sell it or train AI with it. You don't have to give credit, but can’t claim you made it (other than the physical print) either. On the other hand, the 'NC-ND-NAI-CU' license lets you sell printed models for a limited number, but you must give credit when selling them. AI training is still a no-go. Then, there are 'Creative Commons' licenses. 'CC BY-NC-SA' means you can remix and share for personal use, while 'CC BY-SA' allows sharing with credit. These licenses help everyone know how they can use 3D designs

It's important to know that different 3D models online come with different licenses, just like how some songs or movies have specific rules for how you can use them. So, when you find a 3D model you like, take a moment to check its license. The licenses we talked about here, like 'NC-ND-NAI-PU' and 'NC-ND-NAI-CU,' help you understand what you can and can't do with those models. It's the same with other licenses you might encounter on the internet. By understanding the license, you can make sure you're using the 3D model in the way that's intended and respectful to the creator's rights.

Here are links to the licenses you’ll encounter on Makers Mashup models.
